Emmelie Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – The Platte County Sheriff’s Office has identified a teenager who tragically lost her life in a nearly head-on collision on July 3.
Deputies arrived at the scene of the accident on Missouri Route 45, just north of Kisker Road, at approximately 4 p.m. following reports of the crash.
Initial investigations indicated that a 2018 Kia Rio was traveling northbound on 45 Highway when it collided nearly head-on with a southbound 2024 BMW 230i. The driver of the Kia Rio, identified as 18-year-old Emmelie Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the BMW, a 79-year-old male driver and a 69-year-old female passenger, sustained serious injuries; however, their injuries have been classified as non-life-threatening. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
