Edward Parker,Ashim Heanacho Obituary, Death; – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of two men who were shot and killed outside a library in Lexington over the weekend.

Edward Parker, aged 52, and Ashim Heanacho, aged 71, were declared dead early Saturday at 1733 Russell Cave Road, specifically at the Northside Branch of the Lexington Public Library, as reported by the coroner’s office. Both individuals were residents of Lexington and succumbed to gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday. Deborah Weiss, aged 69, was apprehended at the scene and faces two counts of murder, according to the Lexington police. The citation for Weiss’ arrest indicates that she confessed to shooting Parker and Heanacho. She is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center with a bond set at $1 million. Court records reveal that Weiss had no prior felony or misdemeanor charges in Kentucky. She is set to be arraigned in Fayette District Court on Monday afternoon.

This tragic shooting represents the 14th and 15th homicides in the city for the year. At the same time in 2024, there had been eight homicides in Lexington, and 13 by the same time in 2023, based on police statistics.
