Dwayne Goodman Obituary, Death; – Wayland police have identified Dwayne Goodman, 59, from Wayland, as the pedestrian who was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday, December 8.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Superior Street, located just east of U.S. 131.
He was discovered lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Subsequently, he was transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids where he was pronounced dead, according to police reports.
The driver remained at the scene following the incident, as stated by police Chief Scott Matice.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Initially, the victim was reported to be 66 years old; however, police later clarified that he was 59.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the Wayland Fire Department, Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, and Wayland Area EMS.
