Dorothy Heaton Obituary, Death;- The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released the name of a woman killed in a fatal accident earlier this week in Hand County.
77-year-old Dorothy Heaton of Redfield has been identified as the individual who suffered fatal injuries in the crash east of Highmore on US Highway 14.
Heaton was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet pick-up when it crossed the center line of the road and started driving in the wrong direction. The driver of the pick-up and another motorcyclist had minor injuries. A third motorcyclist involved was not hurt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
