Donna Scilagyi Obituary, Death; – A man was taken into custody following allegations of murdering his mother in Hanford last week, as reported by the Kings County Sheriff’s Office. On Friday, deputies responded to a welfare check at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Curtis Street, where they found the victim deceased at the location.
The victim, identified as 74-year-old Donna Scilagyi, was the mother of the suspect, 45-year-old Scott Scilagyi, who was arrested at the scene and is currently held at the Kings County Jail, awaiting formal charges from the District Attorney’s Office. The sheriff’s office indicated that further investigation suggests the suspect fatally assaulted his mother during a dispute at their residence.
Assistant Sheriff C. Barsteceanu expressed condolences, stating, ‘This is a heartbreaking case, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
