Alvin Sobbing Obituary, Death; – On Thursday, two individuals lost their lives in a collision south of Nebraska City, as reported by the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. to investigate a crash involving a pickup truck and a semitrailer on U.S. 75, situated between County Roads P and Q.
According to preliminary findings, the pickup truck was traveling south on U.S. 75 when it veered across the center line, resulting in a head-on collision with the semitrailer. The pickup’s driver, 70-year-old Alvin Sobbing from Auburn, along with a 12-year-old boy who has yet to be identified, were declared dead at the scene.
The semitrailer’s driver, a 39-year-old man from Houston, sustained no injuries. The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is actively pursuing the investigation, with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol for crash reconstruction.
