Dominic Flowers Obituary, Death; – The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a driver suspected of being involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident has been apprehended. On June 2, 15-year-old Dominic Flowers was struck and killed on Highway 36, just south of Hummingbird Lane.

According to the sheriff’s office, a driver collided with the teenager that Monday night and subsequently fled the scene. Currently, the sheriff’s office has identified the driver as another teenager, 17-year-old Joseph Ghebraamlak from Gwinnett County.

Ghebraamlak was taken into custody on Wednesday morning, as stated by the sheriff’s office. He is facing charges of first-degree vehicular homicide and hit-and-run and is currently held at the Newton County Detention Center.

The family of Flowers has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses, which can be accessed online here.
