Dessie S Medley Obituary, Death; – One individual has lost their life and several others have sustained injuries following a two-vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend in southern Alabama, as reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Emergency responders reached the location along Alabama 55, close to the 42 mile marker, roughly four miles northwest of Red Level, in Covington County, at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Sunday.

According to investigators, a Tennessee woman named Dessie S. Medley, aged 74, from Speedwell, was fatally injured in a collision involving a 2024 Honda CRV and a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300.

Medley was a passenger in the Honda, which, according to ALEA, was impacted by the Mercedes.

The 39-year-old male driver of the Mercedes, along with a 42-year-old female and two teenage passengers, aged 13 and 16, all hailing from Moundville, Alabama, were transported to hospitals for medical attention.

The 53-year-old female driver of the Honda, along with two passengers aged 18 and 23, were also taken to hospitals. The driver and the 23-year-old were confirmed to be residents of Follette, Tennessee, while the hometown of the 18-year-old has not been disclosed.

The extent of injuries sustained by each victim has not been made public.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated by troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.
