Dejuante Poe Obituary, Death; – A 35-year-old man from Rockford, Stephen Boddie, is facing murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on February 6, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Dejuante Poe.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Rockford police were dispatched to the 900 block of 4th Avenue following reports of individuals injured by gunfire. It has been reported that Poe and a 20-year-old were attending a party when a confrontation ensued, leading to both individuals being shot.
The two men were taken to nearby hospitals, where Poe ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Boddie is currently at large, and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Rockford Police Department at 815-966-2900.
