Dawn Nemac Obituary, Death; – The South Boston Police Department announced on Friday the identity of the individual who was struck and fatally injured by a school bus on October 3.
Officers from SBPD arrived at a parking lot located at 700 Bruce Street just prior to 11:30 a.m. in response to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a Halifax County School bus.
According to the department, it was established that the bus had halted in front of the building to discharge children, and after all the children had exited, the driver moved forward, colliding with a woman positioned in front of the bus.
The deceased has been identified as Dawn Nemac from Buffalo Junction. Nemac was transported to Halifax Sentara Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The bus driver has been identified as David Anderson, a resident of South Boston. The department has not disclosed whether any charges will be brought against Anderson.
