Darshan Sahsi Obituary, Death; – Homicide investigators have confirmed the identity of the 68-year-old man who was fatally shot in Abbotsford on Monday.

According to the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD), the shooting occurred on Ridgeview Drive close to Summit Drive at approximately 9:20 a.m.
Sgt. Paul Walker reported that first responders found the man with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Despite attempts to save his life, the man succumbed to his injuries.

In a Tuesday update, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) named the victim as Darshan Sahsi, a well-known local businessman from Abbotsford.
“Initial findings indicate that this was a targeted attack and that no other individuals were harmed in the shooting,” stated IHIT.

The police also released a photograph of a suspect vehicle thought to be connected to the homicide.
Investigators are requesting assistance from the public in identifying the vehicle’s occupant.

IHIT is looking for dashcam footage from anyone who was present in the vicinity between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

The AbbyPD also responded to a separate shooting incident on Monday morning, which resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries to a 41-year-old man near the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Ware Street.

Authorities clarified on Monday that the two incidents are unrelated.
