Danielle Jones Obituary, Death; – An early Sunday morning accident resulted in the death of one woman on Interstate 49 in Alexandria, as reported by the police.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:29 a.m. in the southbound lanes, according to a news release from the Alexandria Police Department.
Danielle Jones, a 28-year-old resident of Texas, was operating a GMC Acadia when she veered off the road and collided with a guardrail. Her vehicle became immobilized in the roadway and was subsequently struck “moments later” by two additional vehicles, the release indicates.
The report mentions that there was “heavy rainfall and significantly reduced visibility” at the time of the incident.
Jones sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
