Dakota Ann Borders Obituary, Death; – An Arizona woman has been reported deceased following a collision that occurred south of Las Vegas, according to the Nevada State Police. The incident took place on Friday, January 3, on US 95 at mile marker 35, approximately 15 miles north of Searchlight and 57 miles south of Las Vegas.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Dakota Ann Borders, aged 35, was operating a 2005 Toyota Matrix in a northbound direction on US 95 as she approached mile marker 35. Authorities stated that the driver failed to maintain her lane, veering into the dirt median.

Subsequently, she attempted to regain control and return to the roadway but instead ended up on the right dirt shoulder, causing the vehicle to rotate in a clockwise direction. It was reported that Borders was not wearing a seatbelt or any other form of restraint at the time of the accident. She was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The investigation is being carried out by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit. As of 2025, the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Region 2 (Southern Command) has recorded two fatal crashes resulting in two fatalities. Please note that the 2025 fatality data is preliminary and may be subject to change as the investigation concludes.
