Courtney Cortez,Cody Cortez Obituary, Death; – On Saturday afternoon, three individuals lost their lives in a collision involving four vehicles on the highway connecting Center Point and Comfort in southeast Kerr County, as reported by KSAT 12. The incident took place shortly before 5 p.m. on TX-27 at Bluff Creek Road North, located just west of Zanzenberg Ranch and less than an hour northwest of San Antonio.
According to police, the driver of an eastbound Toyota SUV was under the influence of alcohol when he veered into the westbound lane and collided head-on with three motorcycles. Tragically, all three motorcycle riders succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the collision.
The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Courtney Cortez, 34-year-old Cody Cortez, and 57-year-old Daniel Cortez Jr. Additionally, medics transported an unnamed passenger from one of the motorcycles to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 25-year-old Jeremy Wasson, has been arrested on charges including intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
Wasson also required hospitalization due to injuries of an unknown nature. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
