Christoper Johnson Obituary, Death; – The Temple Police Department has revealed new information surrounding the incident on Saturday morning.  Police identified 38-year-old Christoper Johnson from Temple, Texas, as the victim who was shot and later died because of his injuries.

One person was killed and another was seriously injured following an aggravated assault incident Saturday in Temple, according to the Temple Police Department.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of S. 13th Street around 3:39 a.m. about someone being allegedly shot. Officers learned upon arrival that one person was shot, and, around 3:47 a.m., found out a second victim had already left the scene, according to Temple PD.

Police said that a gathering took place at the residence where officers were sent, and that an altercation took place there that led to aggravated assault.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey.  The other person went to the hospital on their own and is reportedly in a life-threatening condition.

The case is under investigation. No other information is available at this time.

Temple PD encourages anyone with information to contact the department at 254-298-5500 or the Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477, where callers can report anonymously. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online.
