Charles Oliver Obituary, Death; – A multi-vehicle accident in Claiborne County resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The incident took place on MS-547 near Tillman Road shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5.
As reported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2007 GMC vehicle side-swiped a 2011 Nissan Rogue before colliding with a 2023 Ford Transit. The driver of the GMC, 65-year-old Charles Oliver from Fayette, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and six passengers of the Ford Transit were taken to Claiborne County Medical Center in Port Gibson and Merit Health in Natchez, suffering from injuries that remain unspecified. The driver of the Nissan was unharmed. The MHP is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this crash.
