Charles Morris Jr Obituary, Death; – The last conversation Charles Morris Jr. had with his mother involved him informing her of his plans to go fishing, as reported by the police. Subsequently, she received information from a friend indicating that he had been robbed and potentially shot.
According to a police statement, the 16-year-old was discovered on Wednesday in Boynton Beach with a gunshot wound to the head. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Friday morning.
Boynton Beach Police officers were attending to a traffic accident around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when Morris Jr.’s father approached them, stating that his son had just been shot, as per the release. The father had learned this from Morris Jr.’s mother, who had just been informed by his friend. The friend relayed that Morris Jr. had been robbed and that he had heard gunfire following the robbery.
Officers then interviewed Morris Jr.’s mother, who mentioned that her son had told her he was going fishing in the vicinity. While the police were attempting to track down Morris Jr. using his phone number, they received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the Preserve at Boynton Beach community.
Police conducted a search of the community and located Morris Jr. lying on the ground in an unoccupied house on the 1700 block of Northeast 6th Street, according to the release. He was transported to Delray Medical Center by Boynton Beach Fire Rescue and was pronounced dead shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday.
