Cathy Buttrey Obituary, Death; – The woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Lewisburg has been named, as reported by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Cathy Buttrey, aged 35, lost her life after being hit by a car while attempting to cross Highway 50 on Friday night, according to the preliminary report from THP.
The report indicated that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 and nearing a green light at the intersection with State Route 431 when Buttrey attempted to dash across the highway in front of the vehicle.
The driver made an effort to swerve into the bike lane to avoid Buttrey but was unfortunately unable to prevent the collision. Buttrey was struck by the vehicle within the bike lane. THP stated that the driver sustained injuries and will not face any charges related to the incident.
