Brittany Chatman Obituary, Death; – A series of gunshots recorded by a doorbell camera resulted in the death of a woman in Lauderhill on Thursday, with witnesses indicating that the incident began following a dispute.
The footage from the Ring camera captures the sound of shouting, succeeded by multiple gunshots, as vehicles are observed rapidly departing from a residence located near NW 7th Street and 34th Terrace.
According to Lauderhill police, they received reports of gunfire in the area around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday. Upon their arrival, they discovered shell casings scattered throughout the neighborhood.
A woman who sustained gunshot wounds managed to drive herself to HCA Florida Plantation Emergency Hospital; however, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have identified her as 29-year-old Brittany Chatman. Law enforcement is currently searching for a suspect connected to the shooting.
NEWSCHAIN noted at least four bullet holes that had penetrated the windows of nearby homes. Additionally, a parked vehicle was found with a bullet hole in the passenger side window. A neighbor who dialed 911 mentioned that the residence had been previously raided by police earlier that day and recounted the turmoil she experienced upon hearing the gunfire.
