Brianna Henn Obituary, Death;- A devastating vehicle accident in Fletcher led to the tragic death of a 17-year-old girl from Henderson County on Monday, as confirmed by authorities.
On Monday, October 14, officers from the Fletcher Police Department (FPD) responded to a collision on Mills Gap Road.
The incident, which took place just before 10:30 a.m., involved a head-on collision between a small SUV and a dump truck traveling in opposite directions, as confirmed by FPD. Emergency responders from the Fletcher Police Department, Henderson County EMS, and Fletcher Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
The victim was identified as Brianna Henn, affectionately known as “Bri,” a senior at North Henderson High School. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police reports.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, students, and staff at North Henderson High School, where ‘Bri’ was a senior,” stated the Fletcher Police Department in a press release on Tuesday. “This is a tragic day for our community.”
Henderson County Public Schools also issued the following statement:
“Our hearts are heavy as our district mourns the loss of one of our students. We are keeping the student’s family, friends, teachers, and all those affected by this heartbreaking loss in our thoughts and prayers. Starting Wednesday, October 15, school social workers and counselors from the district’s Crisis Team will be available at North Henderson High School to offer care and support for students and staff. These dedicated professionals will remain available in the coming days as our HCPS Family continues to grieve and support one another. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be making further comments or facilitating media requests at this time.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
