Bailey Martin Obituary, Death; – A police officer has been confirmed deceased due to the catastrophic flood in Texas, which has claimed the lives of over 100 individuals.

The remains of Officer Bailey Martin, affiliated with the Odessa Police Department, have been located, as confirmed by Public Information Officer Steve LeSueur on Tuesday.

Bailey was camping in the Kerrville area with his family during the holiday weekend. It remains uncertain whether any other family members accompanying him survived the calamity or have been identified.

His remains are currently stored at a facility in Travis County. A representative from the Odessa Police Department is present, working to facilitate the release of Bailey to his family and arrange for his return to Odessa.

Members of the Honor Guard and officers who were close to Bailey will maintain a vigil over the casket until it is released. Subsequently, they will escort him back home. In an official statement, the Odessa Police Department indicated that all officers are donning mourning bands over their badges, and all flags in front of the department have been lowered to half-staff.

The Odessa Police Department requests that residents of Odessa replace their porch lights with blue bulbs for the remainder of the week in memory of Bailey.
