Arturo Velazquez Chavez Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of an individual who was fatally shot outside a food truck in Durham during the midday hours on Friday.
As reported by the Durham Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:30 p.m. to the 4200 block of Garrett Road in response to an “unknown police problem.” Upon their arrival, they received information indicating that a shooting may have occurred on the 2600 block of N.C. Highway 55.
Upon investigation, officers discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police reports. On Monday morning, law enforcement officials identified the deceased as 35-year-old Arturo Velazquez Chavez, a resident of Durham.
