The Warsaw community is mourning the tragic loss of Arthur A. Day, 58, who died Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash. Virginia State Police are actively investigating the incident, which occurred on Route 360, also known as Richmond Road, around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 3.

According to authorities, Arthur Day was crossing Route 360 near Campus Drive when two eastbound vehicles approached. Preliminary reports indicate that the first vehicle swerved to avoid him, but the second vehicle struck him. Day was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away due to his injuries.

Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a black or dark-colored SUV, which fled the scene traveling east on Route 360. At this time, no further identifying information about the driver or vehicle has been released. Virginia State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event and are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver.
