Angelica Medina Obituary, Death: – A suspect has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) following a tragic series of pedestrian fatalities in Fairfield, where two individuals were killed in separate incidents. The events unfolded late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, highlighting ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety in the area.

The first incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Wednesday when a woman was crossing East Travis Boulevard at Kidder Avenue. As she attempted to cross the street heading north, she was struck by a westbound pickup truck. Despite the efforts of emergency responders to save her life, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, her identity has not been disclosed.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 44-year-old Angelica Medina from Suisun, stopped at the scene. Upon investigation, police determined that she was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. Consequently, Medina was arrested and booked into jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Shortly after this incident, on Thursday morning, another pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident while crossing Sunset Boulevard. Details regarding this second incident are still unfolding, and police have yet to release any information about the suspect involved in the hit-and-run.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are actively working to locate the driver responsible. Following both incidents, police temporarily closed the affected streets to conduct their investigations, but they have since reopened to traffic.

The occurrences in Fairfield have raised alarms, especially since this is not the first time pedestrians have been struck in the area. Just the previous week, two pedestrians were injured in separate vehicle-related incidents. Over the last month, seven pedestrians have suffered injuries as a result of vehicle collisions, prompting police to issue reminders for both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution.
