Angela Maldonado,Skyy Richardson Obituary, Death; – Investigators suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor in a collision in Clements that resulted in the deaths of three individuals on Sunday afternoon. Officers from the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of the accident around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 12, just east of Clements Road.
According to reports, a Ford Fiesta was heading east on Highway 12 when the driver lost control for reasons that remain unclear, causing the vehicle to spin into the westbound lanes. Subsequently, a Toyota Tacoma collided with the Ford.
The CHP reported that none of the occupants in the Ford were wearing seatbelts. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives, while two others sustained serious injuries.
The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased as 25-year-old Angela Maldonado from Lockeford, 21-year-old Skyy Richardson from Stockton, and 37-year-old Simon Onesavanh, also from Stockton. The driver of the Tacoma suffered minor injuries, according to reports. Officer Josh Case informed KCRA on Sunday that numerous containers were discovered inside the Ford.
“There was a significant quantity of open alcohol containers,” he stated. “There were cans and bottles, approximately 20 to 30 open containers found in the Ford Fiesta.” Highway 12 was closed for approximately three hours as officers conducted their investigation and cleanup efforts at the scene.
