Angela Craig Obituary, Death; – A jury found a Colorado dentist guilty of first-degree murder on Wednesday for the poisoning death of his wife.

Jurors began deliberations Tuesday afternoon before pausing for the night.

During the trial, prosecutors accused James Craig of systematically poisoning his wife, Angela Craig, by adding toxins to her smoothies over a span of 10 days in March 2023. When these attempts proved unsuccessful, they claimed that the dentist administered a lethal dose of cyanide while she was hospitalized in suburban Denver, suffering from symptoms that baffled medical professionals. She was soon declared brain dead.

Toxicology reports revealed that Angela Craig succumbed to poisoning from cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a substance commonly found in over-the-counter eye drops, as confirmed by the coroner. Prosecutors maintained that Craig intended to kill his wife to escape a marriage he felt imprisoned in, asserting that he sought to avoid divorce to safeguard his finances and reputation.

They further alleged that he attempted to conceal the murder by soliciting others, including his daughter and fellow inmates, to fabricate evidence and testimonies that would suggest his wife had committed suicide or intended to implicate him in her death.

Prosecutors presented security camera footage from the hospital in court, showing Craig holding a syringe before entering Angela Craig’s room. After administering the lethal injection through her IV, Craig exited and sent a text to a fellow dentist with whom he was having an affair, Senior Chief Depu
