Alvis Jottanael Perez-Lirlano Obituary, Death; – A police investigation is ongoing regarding a shooting that resulted in one fatality and left another individual seriously injured in Newark last weekend, as announced by authorities on Tuesday.
Newark police officers arrived at the scene of the shooting on the 300-block of Bloomfield Avenue at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
At the location, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, later identified as Alvis Jottanael Perez-Lirlano, aged 33, from Elizabeth, was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:53 a.m. on Sunday.
The second victim is reported to be in stable condition, according to authorities.
