Alexus L Foreman Obituary, Death; – The woman who was fatally shot in Norfolk on Monday, shortly before her 4-year-old child was taken from the scene, has been named by the Norfolk Police Department.

The mother has been identified as 28-year-old Alexus L. Foreman, a resident of Norfolk. On Monday, police confirmed that the 4-year-old boy who was abducted was her son.

On Tuesday, police reported that the child had been safely found in Virginia Beach. Kai Foreman was discovered unharmed at a residence in the 3900 block of Huntley Way just before 1 a.m., with the help of the Virginia Beach Police Department, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshal Task Force.

Tyli N. Scott, 27, was apprehended at the scene. According to Norfolk police, he has been charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.

The child’s abduction prompted an AMBER Alert issued by Virginia State Police on Monday afternoon. Norfolk Police indicated that Foreman was believed to be in significant danger and that Scott was familiar to the child.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday in the 900 block of East Liberty Street, close to Berkley Park. Police stated that the child was taken from that area, but they have not confirmed the precise link between the shooting and the abduction.

The child has been returned to the care of a guardian. Police have not revealed any relationship between Foreman and Scott.

The investigation by Norfolk police is ongoing.
