Emmanuel Merriweather Obituary, Decatur drowning victim identified

Emmanuel Merriweather Obituary, – Authorities in Decatur have identified the individual who drowned at Riverwalk Marina on Sunday. Limestone County Coroner Mike West confirmed that the deceased was 24-year-old Emmanuel Merriweather. West stated that Merriweather was retrieved from the water and pronounced dead shortly after 7:30 a.m. Reports indicate that two men entered the water, but only one resurfaced. Decatur Police officers were dispatched to the marina around 6:25 a.m. in response to a report of a missing person. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
