Jose Yahir Batz Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost his life in a tragic shooting incident last week in Gwinnett County has been identified as a 16-year-old boy from Norcross.
On Tuesday, the Gwinnett County Police Department confirmed that Jose Yahir Batz was the victim of the shooting that occurred on Windsor Woods Lane. One individual has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting that transpired at an apartment complex last Friday evening.
According to police reports, the incident took place at 2400 Windsor Woods Lane, which is situated near the Huntington Ridge Apartments, as indicated by Google Maps. Officers arrived at the scene around 4 p.m. and found the victim with at least one gunshot wound.
“Initial information suggests that at least two males were engaged in a confrontation that resulted in gunfire,” the officers stated in a news release. “Currently, detectives have one male in custody.”
Cash was discovered near the victim, which police believe may suggest that a transaction had occurred. The Gwinnett Police Department has stated that homicide investigators are actively canvassing the area and conducting interviews to gather more information regarding the incident.
