Salvador D Alvarado Reyes Obituary, Death; – A resident of Kearney has been identified as the passenger who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision that occurred in rural Kearney County on November 5.
The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 10:18 a.m., they received several 911 calls regarding an accident involving two vehicles with injuries at the intersection of County Road 23 and County Road B.
A southbound 2009 Ram pickup, operated by 34-year-old Duniesky Benitez Torres from Grand Island, collided with an eastbound 2008 Buick driven by 61-year-old Nurita Lambert from Axtell.
Both drivers were taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where they were treated for serious injuries. Salvador D. Alvarado Reyes, a 35-year-old passenger in the Ram pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted that seatbelts were not utilized in the Ram, while they were in use in the Buick.
The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting an investigation into the accident, with support from the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office and the Kearney County Attorney’s Office. Emergency assistance at the scene was provided by the Wilcox Fire Department, the Hildreth Fire Department, Good Samaritan EMS, and the Kearney County Road Department.
