John S Boles Obituary, Death; – Virginia State Police have identified the individual who lost his life in a crash in Patrick County on Saturday. John S. Boles, an 81-year-old resident of Claudville, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Dry Pond Highway and Hatchers Chapel Road, as reported by law enforcement officials.
According to police, the operator of a Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Dry Pond Highway (Route 103) when he was unable to avoid colliding with a Jeep Patriot, whose driver had entered Dry Pond Highway from Hatchers Chapel Road. The Ranger veered off the right side of the highway, while the Patriot came to a stop in the northbound lane.
Boles was the driver of the Jeep Patriot and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. A nine-year-old passenger, who was secured by a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries, as stated by the authorities. The driver of the Ford Ranger also sustained minor injuries.
