Eva Flemings Obituary, Death; – A woman from Dothan has died following a fire that occurred on Monday afternoon.
Coroner Robert Byrd has identified the deceased as 71-year-old Eva Flemings.
On that afternoon, Flemings was at home with her adult son and daughter in the 800 block of Monroe Street.
According to the coroner, her son briefly left to take his sister to another residence, and upon his return, he discovered that his mother’s house was completely engulfed in flames.
Flemings was taken to Southeast Health for medical treatment, where she was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time and is currently being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office along with the Dothan Fire Department.
