Jessica Stephanie Gonzales Obituary, Death; – A suspect was apprehended on Tuesday following the death of a woman who was shot outside a Fort Worth motel on December 12, according to police reports. Jacqueline Rodriguez, aged 23, was taken into custody on an existing murder warrant connected to the shooting, as stated in a news release from Fort Worth police. Officers arrived at the Valley Motel located at 1850 Jacksboro Highway at approximately 5:20 a.m. after a woman had sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach from an unidentified assailant.
The victim, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 37-year-old Jessica Stephanie Gonzales, was shot while assisting a man in retrieving his vehicle, police reported. Gonzales was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, according to police. The vehicle in question had been stolen but had not yet been reported to law enforcement. The two individuals who were inside the stolen vehicle exited and fled the scene, as per the release.
Authorities indicated that they have discovered the stolen vehicle may have been linked to a different drive-by shooting that occurred early Friday morning. Detectives are currently investigating to determine if it was indeed the same vehicle involved, police stated.
