Danika Troy Obituary, Death; – Two teenagers from Florida will face trial as adults following a grand jury’s indictment for premeditated murder in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl who was shot multiple times and subsequently set ablaze.
Gabriel Williams, aged 16, and Kimahri Blevins, aged 14, were both indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree premeditated murder for allegedly enticing Danika Troy to a secluded area in Pace before taking her life, as stated by the Office of the State Attorney in news releases issued on Friday.
Williams and Blevins will be tried as adults and will remain in custody without bail at the Santa Rosa County Jail. Both cases are scheduled for arraignment on January 8, 2026.
Danika’s mother reported her missing as a runaway on December 1. The following day, a passerby found her body in a wooded area in Pace, located in Florida’s Panhandle. Investigators revealed that she had been shot multiple times and set on fire.
Investigators swiftly identified the suspects as Gabriel Williams and Blevins, two teenagers who were acquainted with Danika from school, and apprehended them.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson characterized the murder during a news conference after the discovery of Danika’s body earlier this month.
“This is where it gets really horrific,” he remarked, detailing that Williams allegedly took his mother’s handgun before shooting Danika. “It’s bad enough you kill a 14-year-old. You’re 14. You’re 16. Shoot her multiple times, and then they set her on fire.”
The motive behind the murder remains uncertain. Johnson indicated that the explanations provided by the teens at the time “do not align with the forensic evidence or any facts of the case,” adding, “therefore, we do not have a legitimate motive.”
Detectives initially suspected that the murder might have originated from a dispute on social media during the Thanksgiving break. According to the sheriff’s office, the boys alleged that they targeted Danika because she had blocked Blevins on social media and referred to Williams as “worthless and a gang banger.”
