Amani Pollydore,Demetrius Harris Obituary, Death; – The Virginia State Police have identified the two individuals who lost their lives in a devastating crash in Petersburg over the past weekend.

The incident occurred when a Tesla, carrying a driver and three passengers, led law enforcement on a pursuit down the Boulevard in Colonial Heights, continuing into Petersburg. According to Colonial Heights police, the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 70 mph, which is more than double the posted limits of 25 and 30 mph.

The Tesla eventually collided with a tree along Marshall Street and ignited, causing the fire to spread to a nearby residence. The driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers seated in the back were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

State police have identified the driver as Amani Pollydore, aged 23, from Brooklyn, New York. The deceased passenger has been identified as Demetrius Harris, aged 22, also from Brooklyn, New York.

According to state police, none of the occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The Virginia State Police are collaborating with the Colonial Heights Police Department in the ongoing investigation into this tragic event.
