Amber Czech Obituary, Death; – A woman has lost her life following a violent attack at her place of employment in Minnesota, with a male colleague facing charges for the murder.

Prosecutors have outlined the accusations in a criminal complaint submitted early Wednesday against 40-year-old David Bruce Delong, who allegedly informed authorities that he harbored animosity towards the woman — identified as 20-year-old Amber Czech from Hutchinson — and had contemplated killing her for an extended period.

Her father expressed to KARE 11 that she will be profoundly missed. He described her as sociable, industrious, always willing to assist those in need, and passionate about her role as a welder. He noted that she began her journey in welding during her high school years.

Czech was a student at Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC), graduating in the spring of 2024. During her time there, she completed the college’s 10-month welding technology program.
In a statement, ATCC remarked, “she embodied the qualities we aim to instill in all our students—dedication, perseverance, and professionalism,” and was recognized by both her instructors and classmates as an exceptional student committed to mastering the welding craft.

According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Advanced Process Technologies at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, following a 911 call reporting that an employee was discovered at her workstation suffering from “significant head trauma.”

Upon arrival, deputies and paramedics attempted to perform lifesaving measures; however, Czech was declared dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation suggested that a male coworker, later identified as Delong, had attacked her with a blunt instrument. The suspect was apprehended and charged with second-degree murder on Wednesday.
Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes stated in a press release, “I will assess this case for a potential charge of first-degree premeditated murder, which necessitates convening a grand jury.”

Court documents indicate that surveillance footage from the workplace captures Delong departing his workstation and approaching Czech’s workstation. He is observed seizing a sledgehammer and striking Czech forcefully in the head, followed by four additional blows as she…

Following the news of Czech’s death, Advanced Process Technologies told KARE:

“We are heartbroken by yesterday’s tragedy and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends in this terrible moment. We are also making sure our employees have the support they need and working closely with law enforcement as they continue their investigation.

“Production at the facility has been paused for the remainder of the week and administrative staff are working remotely.”

Delong will appear in court Nov. 24 at 9 a.m.
