Asia D Anthony Obituary, Death; Tuscaloosa Woman Killed in Wreck Near Lake View in Fourth Weekend Traffic Fatality

Asia D Anthony Obituary, Death; – Alabama State Troopers are conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred outside Lake View, resulting in the death of a woman from Tuscaloosa. This incident marks the fourth traffic-related fatality in the area over the weekend.

Sergeant Reginal King, who serves as a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, reported that troopers were summoned to the scene of the accident on I-20/59 near Lake View at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The collision involved two vehicles: a 2021 Toyota RAV4 and a stationary 2024 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

According to King, 26-year-old Asia D. Anthony was a passenger in the Toyota, which veered off the road and collided with the parked semitruck. Tragically, Anthony was pronounced dead at the scene, located near Mile Marker 98 and the exit for Lake View.

The driver of the Toyota, a 25-year-old individual from Mobile, sustained injuries and was taken to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for medical care.

As of Tuesday, no additional information has been released as Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue their investigation.

The death of Anthony represents the fourth such incident of this nature that has occurred in Tuscaloosa County over the weekend.
