David Hartman Obituary, Death; – A multi-vehicle accident took place in Gloucester County over the weekend, resulting in a fatality.
As reported by a New Jersey State Police database, 63-year-old David Hartman from Newfield tragically lost his life on November 1 when his Jeep ignited after colliding on State Highway 55 in Elk Township.
The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 55. The crash involved three vehicles: a Jeep, a Nissan, and a Ford.
The impact of the collision propelled the Jeep, which Hartman was operating, into the center median, where it was engulfed in flames.
Troopers from the New Jersey State Police and emergency medical personnel promptly arrived at the scene and pronounced Hartman dead due to the injuries he sustained from the crash and subsequent fire.
The driver and six passengers in the Nissan, along with the driver of the Ford, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
The New Jersey State Police are currently conducting an investigation into the specific circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, there are no charges filed, nor is there any additional information regarding the events leading up to the incident.
