Erick Kitchens Obituary, Death; – The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) has provided additional information, including the identity of the driver, involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 52-year-old man in Colquitt County.
According to GSP, Larry Nelms, aged 62, is the individual suspected of being the driver. Nelms faces multiple charges, including distracted driving, vehicular homicide, following too closely, failure to maintain lane, serious injury by vehicle, failure to report an accident involving injury or death, and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident occurred on October 18 at approximately 9 p.m. on State Route 133, close to Mike Horne Road in Colquitt County.
Reports indicate that Nelms’ vehicle struck another vehicle from behind. Erick Kitchens, a 52-year-old man, was seated in the back of that second vehicle. He was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where he ultimately passed away due to his injuries.
