Timothy Hutchinson Obituary, Death; – A second individual is now facing charges related to the shooting death of an innocent bystander in Akron’s Highland Square earlier this month.
As reported by the police, the victim, named Timothy Hutchinson, aged 25, was inadvertently caught in a shootout involving the two suspects. Authorities stated that evidence indicates Emahni Thomas, aged 23, accidentally shot Hutchinson while returning fire.
Previously, police had identified and apprehended 24-year-old Deshawn Stafford, who is alleged to have instigated the incident by firing at Thomas.
Thomas is facing charges for:
Involuntary Manslaughter – F1
Having Weapons While Under Disability – F3
Tampering with Evidence – F3
According to law enforcement, Thomas had been arrested earlier on unrelated charges of Aggravated Robbery and Having Weapons Under Disability. He is currently being held at the Summit County Jail.
Furthermore, Stafford was convicted in October 2023 for assault related to a fatal incident at IPromise School.
The shootout in Highland Square occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, in the 800 block of West Market Street.
