Eduardo Jones Obituary, Death; – A man who sustained fatal injuries after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office on Monday.
Eduardo Jones, aged 69, passed away at approximately 6:25 a.m. on Friday in the vicinity of Hayes Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. His residential details were not made public.
Officers who responded to the incident provided life-saving assistance until paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived; however, despite ongoing efforts, Jones was declared dead at the scene, according to police reports.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Jones was crossing the Pacific Coast Highway when he was struck by a 2023 Ford F-150 traveling east, driven by a 40-year-old man from Wilmington, who remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, as stated by the police.
Detectives indicated that it was not immediately evident whether factors such as speed, distraction, or impairment contributed to the collision.
