Adrian Brown Obituary, Death;- The 9-year-old boy who was shot and killed in a northwest Indiana residence on Saturday night has been identified.
Adrian Brown, from Gary, was discovered fatally wounded on Saturday in the 400-block of Madison Street in Gary, as reported by the Lake County, Indiana Coroner’s Office on Monday. The coroner’s office has classified Brown’s death as a homicide. Police responded to a call regarding a shooting just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Officials stated that a 9-year-old victim of gunfire was located at a home at the scene. He was transported to a hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. According to a source who spoke to ABC7 Chicago, the child was taken to the hospital by family members.
A news release from the Gary Police Department partially stated, “The tragic nature of this event highlights the critical importance of responsible gun ownership and stringent gun safety practices. Every firearm owner has a responsibility to ensure that weapons are securely stored and kept away from minors and unauthorized individuals to avert accidental shootings and tragic losses.”
The circumstances leading to the fatal shooting remain unclear.
