Remus J Frazier Obituary, Death; – An altercation that allegedly escalated into a deadly shooting resulted in the demise of a 36-year-old resident of the island.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified Remus J. Frazier as the man from Johns Island who was fatally shot on October 1, an incident that also left another individual injured.
Charleston police arrived at a residence on Jules Drive after receiving reports of a shooting around 5:30 p.m., where they discovered a deceased man in the front yard and another man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services transported the surviving individual to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
According to police, an argument erupted among several men gathered at the residence. One man, believed to be Frazier, exited the premises only to return later wearing a mask and wielding a firearm.
A confrontation over Frazier’s weapon ensued, during which he shot the other man multiple times, as previously reported by the police.
A relative of the injured man then discharged a firearm, resulting in Frazier’s death, according to law enforcement. The relative remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with the ongoing investigation.
