Kayla Elem Obituary, Death; – One individual has lost their life, and two others sustained injuries following a vehicular collision in Floyd County over the weekend.
As reported by the Kentucky State Police, the incident involved two vehicles and occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, on State Highway 114 in Prestonsburg. Authorities indicated that a Honda Insight veered into the opposing lane, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Cobalt.
Both drivers were transported to medical facilities for treatment of their injuries. The KSP confirmed that a passenger in the Cobalt, identified as Kayla Elem, was also taken to a hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to the injuries she incurred in the accident. Investigators from the KSP are currently conducting a reconstruction of the accident.
