Jody G Travelpiece Obituary, Death; – A man from Pennsylvania has lost his life following a crash involving the dump truck he was driving on August 29 in eastern Bradford County.

The Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda have identified the deceased as Jody G. Travelpiece, 57, from Benton, Pennsylvania.

On the afternoon of August 29, Travelpiece was driving a four-axle dump truck westbound on U.S. Route 6 in Standing Stone Township, close to the intersection with Rummerfield Road, carrying a substantial load of stone when the accident occurred, according to state police.

The incident transpired when the right front tire of the truck veered off the right edge of the roadway, prompting Travelpiece to overcorrect, as reported by troopers. Consequently, the vehicle overturned onto its driver’s side in the center of the road.
Travelpiece became trapped inside the truck and was unresponsive. Emergency crews that arrived on the scene managed to extricate him from the vehicle, but he was pronounced dead at the location. Troopers noted that Travelpiece was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The state police received assistance at the scene from the fire departments of Wysox, Wyalusing, and Towanda, as well as Guthrie EMS and Fulmer Recovery and Transport Tow Service.
