Theresa Sappington,Leigha Moody Obituary, Death; – The Red Bay Police are currently investigating what they are describing as a murder-suicide following the discovery of three deceased individuals at an apartment complex on Wednesday evening.
As per Red Bay Police Chief Janna Jackson, the event took place at an apartment complex located on Eugenia Nixon Circle. Officers arrived at the location and discovered the bodies at approximately 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Jackson identified the three women as 59-year-old Theresa Sappington, 28-year-old Leigha Moody, and 23-year-old Derick Moody.
According to findings from the ongoing investigation, authorities presently believe that Derick Moody took her own life with a firearm after her mother and sister were fatally assaulted with a blunt object.
Jackson reported that both a baseball bat and a firearm were retrieved from the scene.
