Kyron Richardson,Caitlyn Sponholz Obituary, Death; – A 19-year-old motorcycle operator and a 16-year-old passenger lost their lives in an accident early Friday morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that troopers arrived at the scene of the crash around 1:30 a.m. in Bowie County, Texas.
According to a witness, troopers found that the 2008 Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle was traveling north on Corps Road 2 at a high speed.
The motorcycle veered off the road and collided with a guardrail.
The operator, Kyron Richardson, and the passenger, Caitlyn Sponholz, were ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to their injuries at the crash site.
Caitlyn’s mother mentioned that her daughter was about to begin her junior year of high school.
“Caitlyn cherished her family and friends and was a shining light in this dark world. She will be profoundly missed and loved for all eternity,” she stated.
Caitlyn’s mother requested that her daughter’s story be shared to ensure that “other young adults do not repeat the same errors.”
Richardson’s sister noted that her brother graduated at the top of his class and was set to attend college on a “full-ride scholarship.”
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
