Andrew Canepa Obituary, Death;- One of the three individuals who lost their lives in a mass shooting outside the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno has been recognized by friends and family as Andrew Canepa, a co-owner of Side Street Café located in Newbury Park, California, as reported by KABC.
Canepa, a devoted father and business owner, was confirmed deceased following an incident where a gunman opened fire at the well-known casino early Monday morning, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries.
Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell verified Canepa’s passing in a message on X, stating, “Andrew was a kind soul, a dedicated business owner, and a loving father to his young son. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the Side Street Café community during this incredibly difficult time.”
As reported by KABC, Canepa was also recognized for his active participation in the community, having previously organized fundraising efforts for victims of the 2018 mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks. Those who were acquainted with him expressed shock that he has now fallen victim to yet another senseless act of violence.
At this moment, the identities of the other victims involved in the shooting have not been disclosed. The gunman was subdued by law enforcement within minutes and is currently hospitalized as of Tuesday morning.
