Dequavis Davis Obituary, Death; – A grand jury in Harris County is set to examine the case involving a shooting and crash that resulted in the death of a man in north Houston on Thursday evening.
The incident reportedly began with a dispute in the 2200 block of North Sam Houston Parkway.
During the argument, a firearm was drawn, leading to one individual being shot, as stated by an HPD detective present at the scene.
The victim was being transported to a hospital in a private vehicle; however, that vehicle subsequently collided on John F. Kennedy Boulevard near Beltway 8.
Authorities report that a man was declared dead at the scene around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The victim has been identified by his loved ones to FOX 26 as 26-year-old Dequavis Davis.
The driver of the vehicle has reportedly undergone surgery and is anticipated to make a full recovery.
In the aftermath of the incident, police indicate that a juvenile male surrendered and confessed to his involvement in the shooting.
Officials reached out to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which later decided that the case would be presented to a grand jury.
The identity of the juvenile has not been disclosed.
